Online Games for Daddies to play with their Toddler Boys

* Toddler controls the acceleration (UP arrow)
* Daddy controls the steering (with LEFT and RIGHT arrows)
* Playable with the acceleration constantly held down, obviously.

HEATWAVE RACING	RATING: 8 PRO: * Toddler picks car. * Toddler makes the car go with UP arrow, as conventional.  Put a sticker on the UP arrow for toddler. * Daddy gets to accelerate with space bar. * Nice views. * Realistic. CON: * Car spins out too easily when it hits the wall.
SPEED RACING	RATING 6 PRO: * Ramps to jump CONS: * Can jump with "W", but usually goes out of control. * Toddler drives with CNRL button, which confuses him if he's used to using the UP arrow.
RISKY WHISKEY	RATING:  4 PRO: * Cool bumpy truck bouncing over hills. * Although driving a truck o' whiskey, tell your toddler it's root beer. CON: * With toddler driving with UP arrow, the whiskey case falls out of the truck within the first 10 seconds. * It's not a race car.  Although it looks like fun drivin' to me, Jack gets bored sooner than other games.
H2OVERDOSE	RATING: 9 PRO: * Can pick the color of the Jet Ski, helmet, water jacket and pants. * Few hang-ups. * Very obvious to toddler that he's in charge of throttle. * Jump ramps are fun. * Keeps Jack's attention surprisingly well for a non-car. CON: * The only basic purpose is to drive around on a Jet Ski.
REDLINE RUMBLE	RATING: 7 PRO * My son's favorite - cool cars and get to pick your car and your opponent's car. * You win the car you beat. * Realistic CON * Frequently locks up or shuts down. * Downshifting requires knocking toddler's finger off the UP arrow. * The road is too congested. * Some kids would be scared when ramming into the back of big trucks, but not Jack.
ON THE RUN CAR CHASE	RATING: 6 PRO: * Driving the car is easy.  Not many hang-ups. CON: * The only purpose (that I could figure out, at least) is not being hit by the black vans. * Getting blown up is usually frustrating rather than cool, as you're stuck in some corner with a black van ramming you.
ANGEL POWER RACING	RATING: 6 PRO: CON:
CHAMPIONSHIP	RATING: 6 PRO: * There are a lot of games like this, apparantly using the same underlying program, to balance a car as it travels over bumps.  This one is better, in that:     1. game isn't over when you flip upside down     2. you're actually racing another car CON: * No music * There are some big mountains where we always flip upside down.  It takes too long to recover, and you lose the race.
INSURANCE HUNTER	Rating: 6 PRO: * Variety - new wacky weapon and target every 30 seconds. * Jack LOVES it. * Toddler hits the space bar in this one, to fire the ever-changing wacky weapon. CON: * Painfully easy * No challenge, makes me dizzy * Dad doesn't like it much at all
SPEED RACER	Rating: 9 PRO: * Density of competing cars is just about right. * Jack has figured out how to jump the Mach 5 with the spacebar, making this the first game he controlled with 2 buttons. * Challenging enough that I've played it by myself.  * Not frustrating, if you can stay out of the water. * 1-7 keys used by Dad for extra functions, "Go Robot", etc. CON: * Locks up often if you're in the water.
TELETUBBIES PEEK-A-BOO	Rating: 6 PRO: * Jack's favorite online activity as a baby. * He still gets a kick out of it at 2 and 1/2. * He gets tickled every time the "Naughty Nu Nu" appears. CON: * Not the most entertaining for parent.
NEED FOR MADNESS	Rating: 9 PRO: * Creative and fun. * Do flips to gain power. CON: * You have to play a while to figure it out.
RICH RACER	Rating: 6 PRO: * Like a roller coaster. CON: * Too easy to steer, no challenge * Makes me dizzy
SKYRACER IMPULSE	RATING: 6 PRO: * Cool scenary CON: * Not a car.
BLOB FARM	RATING: 4 (for the purpose of toddler entertainment) PRO: * It's cute.  A game you can play and he'll watch a couple of minutes. * You save the blobs from being smashed, and it's cute to see them smashed. CON: It's click and drag with the mouse.  Toddler just watches.
